Drivers should plan ahead for more construction congestion July 8-11 when SR 520 again closes from Montlake Boulevard in Seattle to I-405 in Bellevue.

At the same time, City of Seattle crews are closing the I-5 ramps to and from Mercer Street for construction. All highway ramps and mainline lanes in the work zone will close at 11 p.m. Friday, July 8.

SR 520 will remain open between I-5 and Montlake Boulevard, and east of I-405.

Nearly 166,000 cars and buses cross SR 520 on a typical summer weekend, and drivers are encouraged to shift how and where they travel. Between SR 520 and the I-5 ramp closures, congestion is expected to increase on I-90, I-5 and I-405, especially from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 9.
