Eastside CHADD will host a talk on Attention Deficite and Hyperactivity Disorder at 7 p.m. on Jan. 21 at Evergreen Health in Kirkland. This talk is free but $5 donations will be accepted.
Mark A. Stein, Ph.D., will talk about ADHD in parents, its effects on child ADHD and treatments. He will also review innovations in ADHD treatment along with recent research findings on ADHD medications. Stein, who is new to the Northwest, will be developing innovative clinical programs for ADHD throughout the lifespan as director of the PEARL Clinic at Seattle Children’s Hospital and as a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Washington. He was previously Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Chicago and George Washington University. An active clinician and researcher specializing in ADHD in children, adolescents, and adults for over 30 years, Stein has written over 90 scientific articles, and co-edited the text book. He currently researches pharmacogenetics, treatment of mothers with ADHD, sleep and side effects of ADHD medications.
