EvergreenHealth has announced EHR.Works, a technology startup focused on health care productivity, is the 2015 winner of the Digital Health Pilot Program. EHR.Works was selected from 96 total applicants that pitched entrepreneurial ideas through a program hosted by Elevar, which works to connect innovative startup companies to larger, relevant customers of their products.

To be selected, EHR.Works completed a rigorous vetting process including Enterprise Challenge Day, where startups met with over a dozen EvergreenHealth executives, as well as a separate Letter of Intent Day, where finalists formally pitched their health care technology solutions to the Kirkland-based health system. Members of the judging panel included senior executives from EvergreenHealth, Cambia Grove and Elevar, who are all partners in the Digital Health Pilot Program, designed to innovate and enhance the patient and provider end-to-end experience.

“By identifying and collaborating with best-in-class entrepreneurs like EHR.Works, EvergreenHealth can leverage new thinking and digital technologies that further our vision to be our community’s most trusted partner for health care solutions,” said EvergreenHealth CEO Bob Malte. “EHR.Works will bring meaningful enhancements to the patient experience, enabling our providers to spend more time focusing on their patients.”

EHR.Works is a New York-based company that was founded in 2014 with a sole mission in mind: make health care providers more productive. The startup is improving the health care space with their web-based productivity suite that enables any provider to seamlessly connect apps, devices and services to improve workflow and delivery of care.

“This is an amazing opportunity for us. We are thrilled to partner with EvergreenHealth and innovate around the patient-provider experience. We’ve built technology that fits seamlessly into hospital workflows and are excited to integrate with EvergreenHealth’s systems to create a better experience for their doctors and patients. Thanks to Elevar Labs’ Reverse Pitch model and Digital Health Startup program for bringing about this transformative opportunity for us,” said Alex Zoller, co-founder and CEO of EHR.Works.

“We are thrilled about EvergreenHealth’s selection of EHR.Works,” said Chris Edell, CEO of Elevar. “The selection process was exceedingly competitive, with nearly 100 startups vying for a pilot opportunity, highlighting how well EHR.Works performed throughout the program. We look forward to the successful execution of their pilot solution in the coming months.”

Over the next few months, EHR.Works will work closely with EvergreenHealth to refine its solution and validate a pilot implementation plan, which will eventually develop into a transformational partnership deal. EvergreenHealth will provide the necessary intellectual capital resources, human capital mentorship and financial support to drive the partnership forward.

EvergreenHealth recently  earned recognition from U.S. News & World Report as a Most Connected Hospital in 2015-16, which places the Kirkland-based health system among just 158 hospitals nationwide for its advances in electronic connectedness that improve safety and patient experience. The organization was also recognized as “Most Improved” by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives in the 2015 Health Care’s Most Wired survey, joining 17 other organizations recognized in Washington, including six in the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. Earlier this year, EvergreenHealth also received Stage 6 designation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Adoption Model, recognizing the two-hospital health care system’s efforts to implement technology solutions that to improve patient safety and quality of care.
