Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the two-day Kirkland Triathlon event, Sept. 18-19.
The Kirkland Triathlon hosts more than 1,500 athletes during the two-day event, which includes a Kid’s Triathlon, Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon.
On Saturday, Sept. 18, Lake Washington Boulevard will be closed between Lakeview Drive and N.E. 62nd St. from approximately 5:30 a.m. to noon for the adult race.
On Sunday, Sept. 19, Lake Washington Boulevard will be closed between Lakeview Drive and N.E. 62nd St. from approximately 10 a.m. to noon for the Kid’s Triathlon.
Carillon Point is accessible at all times by approaching from the south on Lake Washington Boulevard.
Adult Triathlon Run Course
Travels southbound from Houghton Beach Park to 38th Place with the athletes in the bike lane and northbound lane of Lake Washington Blvd. Participants turn left into the bike lane and westbound lane of 38th Place to the Yarrow Bay Office Park.
They will loop through the office park, then return westbound on 38th Place (retracing their steps) to Lake Washington Blvd. and the finish line at Carillon Point.
