More than 10 Christian, Muslim, Jewish and non-denominational organizations are collaborating to conduct an interfaith program to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the events of 9/11.
This is the second 9/11 interfaith program hosted by the Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church and IMAN Center in Kirkland.
Last year, more than 300 people attended a reading of the Qur’an in English and Arabic in response to the planned burning of the Qur’an in Florida.
This year’s Ashes to Hope program will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Kirkland Performance Center, 350 Kirkland Ave., Kirkland. The event includes many more diverse congregations to amplify the connectedness of all people and to build healing.
A collection will be taken for Habitat for Humanity.
Some of the organizations that will be participating are:
Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church
IMAM Center of Kirkland
Temple B’Nai Torah
The Church of Jesus Christ of the Church of the Latter-Day Saints
Holy Spirit Lutheran Church
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

People of all ages, cultures, and spiritual traditions – all are welcome as to observe the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Together we will remember, reflect, and open our hearts to the possibility of peace.
