One of the busiest streets in Kirkland was closed for an accident involving a fatality Monday morning. Other streets had to be closed by the City of Kirkland due to the inclement weather.

The one-car accident on the Kirkland and Redmond boundary in the Totem Lake Neighborhood occurred around 6:30 a.m. and police closed NE 124th Street between 134th Court NE and Willows Road in Redmond until about 9:15 a.m.

NE 124th Street in Kirkland is one of the busiest corridors between Kirkland and Redmond and a main northern route from Redmond to I-405.

Multiple side streets east of Market Street in Kirkland are closed, including 7th Avenue to 19th Avenue between 1st Street and Market Street.

The City of Kirkland is also reporting that many of the on and off ramps for I-405 are blocked or slow due to spin outs.
