With temperatures below freezing, homeless men and women sleeping outside need warm coats. Hundreds of coats have been donated through Cobalt Mortgage’s coat drive.

Firefighters will be taking donations at the Kirkland Cobalt Mortgage at 11255 Kirkland Way today at noon.

Kristine Moreland and other Cobalt Mortgage employees volunteer once a week with the Search and Rescue Van in Seattle. They meet the people living on the streets firsthand and understand the need. Donated men’s coats are hard to come by, so they organized a city-wide coat drive.

Cobalt Mortgage is partnering with other businesses, including Kirkland Crossfit, Blue Martini, John L Scott, 425 Crossfit, Columbia Athletic Club and Best Kept Secret in Kirkland for the drive.
