Friends of Youth will hold the 2nd annual Count Us In event from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16 at Lake Washington United Methodist Church, 7525 132nd Ave. N.E. in Kirkland.
Young people ages 12- 24 who are without a safe and permanent home are invited to designated sites across King County to participate in the homeless youth count, receive a free meal and access limited assistance through case managers on site. Friends of Youth, along with 16 other youth serving agencies in King County will participate in the Count Us In event this year.
The goal of this effort is to obtain information about the number of young people without a stable place to live on any given night in King County. Through increasing our knowledge and understanding of the needs of this population, we can create a community where every youth can live in safe and stable housing.
