The city of Kirkland’s Kirkland Green Trip (KGT) trip reduction program is offering grants up to $3,000 to Kirkland’s employers and property managers to build a new or enhance an existing commute program that supports alternative commute options for their employees. KGT staff provides free commute program consultations. In addition, employers are also eligible for free gift cards to encourage employee use of non-drive-alone transportation options..
The Matching Grants and the Employer Incentive Program are part of a broader effort encouraging people to shift their commute travel from driving alone to traveling by bus, carpool, vanpool, bike, walking, teleworking and working an alternative work schedule. Information about the Matching Grants and Employer Incentive Program is available on www.KirklandGreenTrip.com.
“Commute options are top of mind for both employers and their employees, but most companies aren’t in the business of commuting,” said Kirkland Green Trip program manager Jason Hampton. “Kirkland Green Trip connects employers and property managers with the resources, tools and information that work for their employees’ unique needs.”
