Halloween happenings around Kirkland

Trick-or-treaters young and old will have plenty of Halloween-themed events to fill their schedules thisweekend.

Trick-or-treaters young and old will have plenty of Halloween-themed events to fill their schedules this weekend.

Here are some of the offerings happening in the next few days: Kirkland Parks Pee Wee Monster Bash Preschool Carnival from 10 a.m. to noon at North Kirkland Community Center. Kids ages 5 and under and their parents are welcome to attend and participate in a cookie walk, swamp fishing, monster bowling and arts and crafts. Tickets are $12 for resident children and $14 for non-resident children.

Downtown Halloween Trick or Treating from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 30 and 3-6 p.m. Oct. 31. Participating downtown Kirkland merchants will have treats for kids to collect.

Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest during businesses hours now through noon Oct. 31 at Bombaii Cutters. Salon clients are invited to bring in a carved or decorated pumpkin for entry to receive a $50 gift certificate.

Trick or Treat Open House from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31 at Kirkland City Hall. The city will have 12 candy stations throughout the upstairs level of the building.
