Help restore Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland at 10 a.m. on Feb. 8. Volunteers will spend the afternoon doing a mix of restoration activities, which may include removing aggressive invasive species like ivy and blackberry, spreading mulch over cleared areas and planting native trees, shrubs and ground covers. No experience is necessary. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.
Dress for the weather. Wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Bring a filled water bottle and snacks to munch on. Tools and training will be provided.
Parking is available at the park and on side streets.
Volunteers ages 14-17 without a parent or guardian must bring a signed waiver. Go to www.greenkirkland.org to download the Green Kirkland Youth Volunteer Waiver. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
