A volunteer group asks Kirkland locals to join them at a series of clean-up events in Downtown Kirkland on three Saturdays in September.

US-Japan Volunteers will host events on Sept. 2, 16 and 30. Each event will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., with optional coffee social afterward. Volunteers should plan meet at the Kirkland Transit Center, Bay 4. Although some will be available, volunteers should also bring tongs, rakes, gloves and paper bags if possible.
