The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.
Between Jan. 5-11, there were 854 total incidents, including 85 traffic incidents, 31 traffic accidents, three DUIs, 33 general traffic incidents, eight incidents involving illegal drugs, 45 alarm calls, 14 abandoned vehicles, three burglaries, 10 incidents of fraud, 13 civil incidents, four cases of harassment, 29 thefts, 24 vehicle prowls, three vehicle thefts, nine warrants served, 8 noise complaints, one animal call, 9 incidents of domestic violence, one fireworks complaint, 12 disturbances, one sex offense, eight hit and runs and 24 incidents involving at least one arrest.
Jan. 5
Warrants: 2:11 a.m., 11200 block of NE 124th St.; A 22-year-old woman was contacted at the Totem Lake QFC, and was found to have a misdemeanor warrant for theft out of Everett with bail set at $6,100.
Warrants: 10 p.m., 11400 block of NE 124th St.; A 24-year-old man was contacted and found to have a felony King County warrant for trafficking stolen property.
Jan. 6
Warrants: 3:31 a.m., 12500 block of NE 144th St.; A 20-year-old woman was arrested on her outstanding misdemeanor warrant from Redmond.
Warrants: 11:50 p.m., A 29-year-old man was contacted at the Totem Lake Motel and found to have multiple warrants. He was arrested on his Redmond PD for 3rd-degree theft.
Jan. 7
Drugs: 9:55 p.m., 12200 block of 120th Ave. NE; Police contacted a 33-year-old Fox Island man and a Tacoma man after noticing their Crown Vic lacked license plates. Both men had active warrants. The older man was also carrying 4.95 grams of heroin on his person, and was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent.
Jan. 8
Warrants: 1:55 a.m., 14300 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 35-year-old man was contacted at the Kingsgate 7-11 and arrested on his felony no-bail warrant for assault of a child.
Jan. 10
Drugs: 2:28 a.m., 500 block of Alexander Ave.; After being arrested on a warrant for driving with a suspended license, a 26-year-old man was searched and found to have .3 grams of heroin folded in a piece of tin foil in a pocket of his underwear. The man was provided ample opportunity to inform jail staff about possible illegal substances, but chose not to. Charges were filed for introducing contraband.
Jan. 11
Assault: 7:06 a.m., 13500 block of Holmes Point Drive NE; A man was assaulted by his 15-year-old son with hits to the head and a kick to the crotch. The man had injuries and was in pain. The son also kicked in several doors and ran upon arrival of law enforcement. The juvenile was booked into King County Youth Corrections for 4th-degree domestic violence assault and 3rd degree domestic violence malicious mischief.
