The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between Dec. 1-7, there were 888 dispatched calls, including 186 traffic incidents, 41 traffic accidents, one DUI, 42 general traffic incidents, one incident involving illegal drugs, 39 alarm calls, 12 abandoned vehicles, eight burglaries, 12 incidents of fraud, 11 civil incidents, four cases of harassment, 17 thefts, 21 vehicle prowls, two vehicle thefts, 14 warrants served, nine noise complaints, five animal calls, 11 incidents of domestic violence, 18 disturbances, two sex offenses, six hit and runs and 18 incidents involving at least one arrest.
Dec. 6
Warrant: 10:34 .m., 12400 block of NE 85th St.; a 32-year-old Seattle man was contacted outside the Rosehill Walgreens and arrested on his outstanding King County Sheriff’s Office felony warrant.
Warrant: 7:11 p.m., 13600 block of 100th Ave. NE; a 19-year-old homeless female and her long-time boyfriend, a 20-year-old homeless man were both observed inside the Juanita McDonalds. The woman was arrested on her $2,500 Redmond theft warrant, and the man was arrested on his $10,500 Kirkland warrant.
Warrant: 11:34 a.m., 11700 block of 118th St.; a 23-year-old Kirkland man turned himself in on his Kenmore warrant.
Dec. 5
Warrant: 9:22 p.m., 10000 block of NE 137th St.; a 31-year-old Kirkland man was seen in the parking lot of the Juanita Safeway, and quickly walked into the store. He was found in the restroom and arrested without any incident. He was transported to King County Jail on his $25,000 felony drug warrant.
Traffic offense: 3:12 p.m., 12500 block of 116th Ave. NE; a 27-year-old female Kirkland driver was stopped for expired tabs. Upon contact, the officer found her her driving status as suspended/revoked third degree and misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. The woman was arrested and booked at Kirkland Jail.
Burglary: 3:09 a.m., 10700 block of NE 143rd Pl.; a 27-year-old Bellevue man was arrested for second degree burglary, second degree trespass and third degree malicious mischief after he entered the back yard shed of a residence and removed items which were recovered by the home owner. The suspect fled on foot and was tracked by a K-9 in the backyard of another home. The suspect was transported to EvrgreenHealth hospital for an evalutaion on his dog bite. He was booked into King County Jail.
Warrant: 1:15 a.m., 900 block of 6th St. S.; a 44-year-old Kirkland woman was contacted at the Houghton 7/11 and found to have a Kent warrant for assault in the fourth degree for domestic violence and third degree malicious mischief domestic violence with no bail. She said her identity was compromised but all scars, marks and tattoos were a match. Kent Police sent a photo which was an exact match. She was transported to Kent Police.
Dec. 4
Domestic: 10:12 a.m., 12000 block of 89th Pl. NE; a 38-year-old woman was arrested for fourth degree assault on her husband and male child.
Warrant: 8:30 a.m., 1000 block of 7th Ave.; a 23-year-old Kirkland man walked into the Kirkland Crossfit. The owner was watching on a live feed and did not recognize him as a client to the business. The man walked around and acted like he may be videotaping the business with his cell phone. He was then located near Kirkland City Hall and arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for residential burglary.
Dec. 3
Malicious mischief: 10:45 p.m., 129 Central Way; a 30-year-old homeless man was arrested and booked for Malicious Mischief 2 after he became overly angry and broke out one of the large plate glass windows at the Zoka Coffee shop. Damage is estimated to be around $5,000.
Domestic: 7:58 a.m., 200 block of 3rd St.; a 38-year-old Seattle man and a 30-year-old Seattle woman were seen having a verbal argument in the area of Central Way and 3rd St. and were contacted together at the Kirkland Transit Center by officers. There is a current Order of Protection prohibiting the man from contacting the woman or being within 500 feet of her. The man was arrested for violating of the protection order and booked into the Kirkland Jail.
Dec. 1
Warrant: 12:36 a.m., 11200 block of NE 124th St.; A 25-year-old Kirkland woman was arrested on her Bellevue PD warrant without incident after she was located in the Totem Lake QFC Store. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Kirkland Jail where she posted $500 bail.
Warrant: 1:32 a.m., 14400 block of 124th Ave. NE; a 25-year-old Kenmore man was contacted in the Kingsgate Safeway parking lot. The man showed to have a DUI warrant from the Washington State Patrol. The warrant was confirmed and the man was taken into custody without incident.
Warrant: 4:27 a.m., 700 block of 18th Ave. W; While conducting an area check for a male wanted for questioning, an officer contacted a 27-year-old man walking in the roadway. The officer was aware the man had an outstanding warrants for his arrest. Norcom confirmed the warrant out of Bothell. Following contact and arrest, Bothell police took custody of the man at the Brickyard Park and Ride.
