King County executive candidate Ross Hunter raised $63,000 during the month of June and another $21,000 since the beginning of July, continuing to lead the pack in fundraising among the Democrats in the executive race. The latest PDC filing numbers also indicate that Hunter has a significant amount of cash on hand heading into the primary election, with more than $136,000 available to date.
Candidate Dow Constantine follows with more than $45,000 raised so far. Republican Susan Hutchison leads with more than $66,000.
Hunter, who did not even declare his candidacy until after the legislative session ended (a choice made due to pending county legislation before his committee) and was unable to fundraise until the end of April has received a significant number of contributions.
“It’s time for a change in King County. Years of mismanagement by our current leaders are causing cuts to essential services,” Hunter said. “People believe I can bring the kind of change and management experience that we so desperately need. I am honored to have so much support.”
