The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between Dec. 15-21, there were 768 total incidents, including 69 traffic incidents, 18 traffic accidents, five DUIs, 22 general traffic incidents, four incidents involving illegal drugs, 46 alarm calls, 11 abandoned vehicles, four burglaries, eight incidents of fraud, 14 civil incidents, seven cases of harassment, 25 thefts, six vehicle prowls, one vehicle theft, eight warrants served, 13 noise complaints, two animal calls, seven incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 16 disturbances, three sex offenses, nine hit and runs and 21 incidents involving at least one arrest.
Dec. 15
Domestic: 2:09 a.m., 9500 block of NE 120th St.; A 39-year-old woman was arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault after she assaulted her friend and her own husband. Though he was the most injured, the husband declined aid and did not want to be a victim. The man was assaulted while attempting to break up a fight between the woman and her friend.
Warrants: 5 p.m., 13500 block of 100th Ave. NE; A 31-year-old woman was contacted in the A-1 Cash Now parking lot and arrested on her Snohomish County warrant for welfare fraud.
Dec. 16
Warrants: 1:10 p.m., 13100 block of 111th Ave. NE; A 36-year-old Spokane Valley man was arrested on his felony warrant for Possession of Stolen Property out of Spokane County Sheriff’s Department.
Warrants: 10:04 p.m., 14400 block of 124th p.m.; A 21-year-old Bothell man was arrested on his outstanding warrant for drug paraphernalia without incident.
Warrants: 11:55 p.m., 100 block of Kirkland Ave.; A 44-year-old Seattle woman was arrested on a Bellevue warrant for urinating in public.
Dec. 17
DUI: 12:34 a.m., 12500 block of NE 132nd St.; Police observed a 29-year-old man going 70 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone. After being pulled over, the man showed signs of impairment, failed field tests and blew a .219. The man was arrested for DUI.
Dec. 19
Disturbance: 12:10 a.m., 100 block of Central Way; A 25-year-old Bellingham woman was cited for misuse of a fire alarm after an incident at the Wilde Rover bar in downtown Kirkland. The woman was intoxicated and had previously been kicked out of the bar, but had snuck back in through a side door. As she was getting escorted out by security, again, she pulled the fire alarm near the front door. She left on foot, but was ID’d nearby by staff as the one who pulled the alarm.
DUI: 1:04 a.m., 10300 block of NE 124th St.; A 25-year-old Lake Stevens woman was stopped for driving without headlights. The woman exhibited signs of impairment and did poorly on field tests. She gave two samples of .150 and .156 and was booked due to a 2013 DUI conviction.
Dec. 20
Warrants: 8 p.m., 12400 block of NE 144th St.; A 58-year-old Seattle man was sleeping inside the Totem Lake McDonalds and the manager wanted the police to make him leave. The man had consumed well over half of a fifth of whiskey within an hour of being released from EvergreenHealth and was highly intoxicated. The man was still wearing paper hospital garb, had urinated and likely defecated in his clothing, and was homeless. The man had a warrant out of Seattle police for theft and was booked into King County Jail.
Dec. 21
Warrants: 9:03 a.m., 120th Ave. NE and NE 132nd St.; A Kirkland officer recognized a 26-year-old Duvall man and a 25-year-old homeless female and made contact with them. Both parties had warrants out of Redmond, were arrested and turned over to Redmond police.
Domestic: 1:20 p.m., 14400 block of 123rd Lane NE; A 34-year-old man was arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault after an incident involving a 28-year-old woman.
