The following is a release from the Lake Washington School District:
Juanita High School and Redmond High School will open on normal schedules on Monday. Futures School, located at Juanita High School, will also be open. These schools were closed on Friday due to nonspecific threats against those schools.
“We have conferred with police and determined that Juanita High School, Futures School and Redmond High School as well all other district schools will be open and on regular schedules on Monday,” said Dr. Traci Pierce, superintendent. “There is no indication of any ongoing threat to these schools.”
The district has requested extra patrols and police presence near these campuses as next week begins as an extra precaution.
Kirkland and Redmond Police Departments are continuing their investigations to identify the student(s) responsible for the threats.
Students and staff at both schools will make up the missed school day and an additional day will be added to the school year.
