Jury selection is expected to begin next week in the vehicular homicide trial of a woman accused of killing a Kirkland woman on Juanita Drive in 2012.
There was no trial activity this week due to a judicial conference, so the case has yet to be assigned to a judge, said a King County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson. However, jury selection is expected to begin early next week, setting the stage for opening arguments to begin soon after.
Kelly Ann Hudson was charged with one count of vehicular homicide and three counts of vehicular assault in the Aug. 7, 2012 head-on collision on Juanita Drive that killed Kirkland resident Joyce Parsons, 81, and injured three others – Parson’s brother Arthur Kamm, and two other family members Jenny Grieshaber and Daniel J. Grieshaber.
Hudson, who was initially held on a $500,000 bail, pleaded “absolutely not guilty” to the four counts on Aug. 23, 2012 at King County Superior Court.
