Kamiakin announced its final band awards as a 7-9 junior high before transitioning to a 6-8 middle school this summer.

Kamiakin announced its final band awards as a 7-9 junior high before transitioning to a 6-8 middle school this summer. The band program is full of talented musicians and band director, Ward Brannman was proud to present the following awards.

Musician of the Year went to Andrew Jawort, Payson Blackwell, Nick Teoh, Ben Hayward and Chris Potter.

The Director’s Award went to Bridget Dahlman-Oeth, Tom Mikkelson, Leslie Fisher, Aimee Richardson, and Abby Bergman.

Since 1999, Kamiakin has awarded a deserving 6th grader The Peter Riffe Memorial Scholarship in memory of a past trombone player in the Intermediate Band. This year’s recipient was Tali Izhaky who plays alto saxophone and clarinet.
