Jean Guth, founder of the Kirkland Dog Off-leash Group (KDOG), presented the Kirkland City Council with a $3,000 check during the council meeting Tuesday.

The donation will be used to purchase dog waste bags for the city’s local parks. The Parks Department spends approximately $10,000 a year on dog waste bags.

KDOG raised the money through this summer’s Go Dog, Go! Kirkland Canine Festival event that was held July 25 at Crestwoods Park.
