Downtown Kirkland businesses Simplicity Decor and Simplicity ABC are offering an opportunity for kids and family to fundraise for their favorite organizations this summer.

With great success of last year’s event and a lot of requests from the community, owner “A” Suraphong Liengboonlertchaiare is offering this fun opportunity again.

This year the event will be held on the weekend from 1-4 p.m. June 29 to Sept. 1.

The business will provide the stands/tables and prime locations in front of both stores in downtown Kirkland, and the kids will hand out lemonade with a suggested donation.

Simplicity Decor and Simplicity ABC will donate 10 percent of the store’s sales to the group’s chosen cause, during each shift at the stand.

Last year, Liengboonlertchaiare worked with more than 20 groups and donated almost $2,000 on top of what kids raised from the stands.

Applications are due by June 17 or until spots are filled. First come, first served.
