The King County Sheriff’s Office is currently hiring 9-1-1 communication specialists and will be holding a recruiting workshop at the station in Renton on July 12.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, interested applicants may attend a workshop to learn about the hiring process, training, expectations and more.

Responsibilities for this position include answering 9-1-1 emergency telephone calls, determining the nature and geographic location of the emergency and dispatching police mobile units or referring calls to the appropriate agencies. 9-1-1 communications specialists respond to high volume of calls, many of which involve accidents or crimes in progress.

The job is full-time and based out of the King County Sheriff’s Office, 3511 N.E. Second St. in Renton.
