Kirkland Arts Center’s Art Store opened

Kirkland Arts Center has taken its holiday arts sale of the past and transformed it into an exciting new retail venture: has. Conveniently located at the core of downtown Kirkland, the new store, has, offers extended shopping hours seven days a week, art-making activities for kids, and special in-store events.

Come to has for a great selection of handmade functional ceramics, sculptures, prints, paintings, jewelry, textiles, and other one-of-a-kind artisan objects. With each purchase you make at has, you’ll be providing essential support to individual artists and to KAC programs.

has is located at 336 Park Place Center, adjacent to Museum Quality Framing, between Noah’s Bagels and Parkplace Cinema.

The store is open through Dec. 30. For information, call 425-827-8219.

Also, while in downtown Kirkland and in the market for great art, be sure to stop by The Art Shop at 108 Central, opening Friday, Dec. 11, for 10 days only! The Art Shop is run by six local artists: Rebecca DeVere: (recently named Best Local Artist in Area Code 425, by 425 Magazine) mosaics and painting; Jamie Johnson: painting (a former Kirkland resident with a big fan club, Jamie is making all new work and coming from Salt Lake City to be part of The Art Shop); Justin Fisher: paintings and woodworks; Liz Gamberg: rugs, ceramics, and jewelry; Pilar Loizaga: pottery; and Sue Zell: pillows, tuffets, and chairs. The Art Shop will bring in more fabulous artists for trunk shows throughout its ten days. The shop will feature an “Art Star” of the day and host open brown bag lunches with said star.
