Madison House Retirement and Assisted Living will join the Kirkland Woman’s Club in a Benefit Baby Shower at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17.

The Madison House Knifty Knitters and friends put a lot of time and expertise into making blankets, hats, booties and sweaters.

Kirkland Woman’s Club members also purchased and collected gently used items to donate to the Department of Health & Social Services.

Their goal is to provide 12 complete layettes; 6 for girls and 6 for boys, which are organized by the Kirkland Woman’s Club.

The Health Department will distribute the layettes to needy new moms and babies to fill essential needs when it’s time to leave the hospital.

Organizers of the Benefit Baby Shower are accepting baby yarn, knitted, gently used or purchased blankets, hats, sweaters, sleepers and monetary donations.
