Greg Parkinson from Puget Sound Energy will present a Gas and Electric Safety demonstration including a High Voltage Demonstration Board from 7-9 p.m. on Feb. 26 at Fire Station 26.
Learn about the correct use of generators during power outages, natural gas safety and emergency situations involving electricity, such as downed wires, plus other topics.
• An 8-foot display board shows power lines energized up to 12,000 volts.
• Safety around power lines & accidents that could happen.
• Arcs and sparks will be seen in each situation.
• The how and why to shut off a gas meter in an emergency.
• Questions about safety around power lines and gas will be answered.
