Seattle burglars caught stealing several items at a Kirkland condo last April, were sentenced to serve time in prison on Nov. 22.

King County Superior Court Judge Laura Gene Middaugh sentenced Eric John Petrin to 3.5 years of jail for burglary, residential burglary, possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine. Maegan Ann Blankenship received a one year prison sentence for burglary, possession of methamphetamine and possession of stolen property. Blankenship has the option of spending her last 90 days of jail time in Electronic Home Detention.

Blankenship also must attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings one time per week or participate in a formalized treatment program monitored by a doctor. Petrin and Blankenship were ordered to have no contact with the victims from the apartment complex they stole from for a minimum of 10 years.

Kirkland police caught the two burglars – thought to be connected with 100 crimes – on April 25 after they received the Washington’s Most Wanted tips.

Surveillance cameras at a condo in the Moss Bay neighborhood caught Petrin entering the garage and stealing an iMac computer from the tenant mail drop. The video also captured images of Blankenship stealing a bicycle.

Police later arrested the couple at their Seattle apartment, which they searched and found a stolen shotgun and guitar. They also found a safe containing baggies of meth and crack cocaine and a cellphone that police believe was used to sell drugs.

Petrin’s criminal history includes 12 felony convictions, three of which are serious offenses that disqualify him from possessing firearms, according to court documents.

The couple pleaded guilty on Aug. 27 to several burglary counts and possession of methamphetamine after being arrested for burglarizing a Kirkland condo complex last April. They initially pleaded not guilty on May 9.
