Kirkland police caught two prolific burglars believed to be connected with stealing a Kirkland iMac computer and a bike earlier this year.

Detectives think the two are also behind around 100 burglaries and car prowls.

A man and woman, who were caught on camera stealing the items from a Moss Bay condo mail room on Feb. 11, were identified when a Washington’s Most Wanted viewer tipped police off.

Kirkland police say they received numerous tips via Crime Stoppers.

Detectives arrested the couple – a 38-year-old man and 25-year-old female – near their Seattle apartment Tuesday night. The couple was booked into the King County Jail and face burglary and other charges. They are being held without bail.

Kirkland detectives later obtained and served search warrants on the suspects’ apartment, two vehicles and a storage unit in Ballard. Detectives recovered two firearms, evidence of drug/narcotics dealing, cash and property believed to have been taken in similar burglaries of residential condominiums in the city of Seattle.

In addition to the burglary charge, Kirkland detectives are recommending charges to include: Possession of drugs with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

“Kirkland police detectives would like to thank Q13’s Washington’s Most Wanted, Crime Stoppers and most importantly the citizens who provided anonymous tips that led to the successful arrest of the suspects in this case,” said Kirkland police officer Audra Weber.
