What do green home remodeling, sustainable business, and a local farmer’s market have in common? They are among the many highlights that are part of Sustainable September, a month-long green learning opportunity, that offers something for everyone. Sustainable September includes free public workshops, educational symposiums and an outdoor Green Festival concurrent with the Kirkland Wednesday Market. Downtown Green Festival:

Shop for Green Goods; Learn about Eco-friendly Services

Bring your reusable shopping bag to the Kirkland Wednesday Market (www.kirklandwednesdaymarket.org) on September 17 between 2 – 9 p.m., and shop at the Eastside Eco Market, learn about the many green initiatives happening in the City and region, and enjoy a community-wide street dance. The Hess Brothers perform at 4 p.m., followed by the Big Luv Band at 6 p.m.
