Kirkland Kiwanis helps with LWSD Teen CEO Business Competition

Eleven high school students from around the Lake Washington School District will compete in the Teen CEO Business Competition at 9 a.m. on March 15 at the District Resource Center in Redmond.

Eleven high school students from around the Lake Washington School District will compete in the Teen CEO Business Competition at 9 a.m. on March 15 at the District Resource Center in Redmond.

The Kirkland Kiwanis Foundation has partnered with the Lake Washington School District to distribute cash awards for this event.

These students operate nine small businesses and will present their business plans to a panel of judges in a “Shark Tank” type format, with an opportunity to win up to $5,000 in cash awards donated by local businesses.

The judges include: Roger Blier – CEO, Passport Unlimited; Walt Krueger – Partner, Krueger Beck, PLLC; Shannon Jurdana – President & CEO, Benefit Solutions, Inc.; and Charlotte Clary and Bev Vines-Haines – founders, Ice Chips Candy. The master of ceremonies will be Nelson Yong of Reign Labs.

The District Resource Center is located at 16250 NE 74th Street in Redmond. The event will be in the board room.
