In 2004, Larry Springer was elected to represent the 45th Legislative District. Since then, USB flash drives replaced CD-ROMS, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series, Facebook was launched and Springer took approximately 7,000 votes on the House Floor.

Each legislative session, Representatives are called to the House floor to take hundreds of votes. During his 10 years in the legislature, including 19 regular and special sessions, Springer only missed two votes out of approximately 7,000. And those two missed votes occurred because he was taping a message to his constituents back home. This equates to Springer only missing votes .0003 percent of the time.

“My constituents elected me to go to Olympia and make decisions on their behalf,” said Springer. “Decisions are made by voting. I’m just doing my job.”

As Deputy Majority Leader for Jobs and Economic Development, Springer has been an advocate for education, job creation, sustainable budgeting, and creating “community.”

The only other legislator with a record as outstanding as Springer is Majority Leader Rep. Pat Sullivan, D-Covington. The two Representatives share the title of fewest votes missed since they were both elected in 2004.
