The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between Aug. 11-16, there were 129 traffic incidents, 17 traffic accidents, one DUI, 31 general traffic incidents, 47 alarm calls, 13 abandoned vehicles, one burglary, 10 incidents of fraud, seven civil incidents, eight cases of harassment, 17 thefts, nine vehicle prowls, five vehicle thefts, 13 warrants served, 21 noise complaints, 12 animal calls, 10 incidents of domestic violence, one fireworks complaint, 15 disturbances, one sex offense, five hit and runs and 30 AA incidents involving at least one arrest.
Aug. 13
Domestic: 2:37 a.m., 14200 block of 92nd Place NE; A 45-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after attempting to take his 4-year-old daughter and beating his daughter’s mother in the process. A 41-year-old woman reported that the man arrived at her transitional housing unit in Seattle and attempted to take her daughter from her by force. She then tried to stop him by jumping into his Toyota Corolla, but the man began elbowing her in the face and beating her to force her out of the vehicle. The man has a current no-contact order against him.
Domestic: 1:45 a.m., 13000 block of NE 70th Place; A 26-year-old Lynnwood woman punched and hit her boyfriend, a 34-year-old man from Lynnwood, then broke his phone, his necklace and dented his car. The woman was arrested for 4th-degree assault, domestic violence, and 3rd-degree malicious mischief.
Aug. 14
Domestic: 12:55 a.m., 12000 block of 103rd Ave. NE; A 21-year-old man was arrested for 4th-degree assault, domestic violence, after he head-butted his roommate in the face. The man was attempting to break up a verbal argument between another male and female in the same residence.
Aug. 15
Theft: 10:18 a.m., 9800 block of NE 132nd St.; A 35-year-old Kenmore woman switched price tags on 10 items at the Goodwill on 132nd St. and paid for the items at a cheaper rate, saving $84.40. The woman was stopped and detained by loss prevention, and later issued a citation for 3rd-degree theft.
Aug. 16
Warrant: 2 a.m., 11700 block of NE 118th St.; A 30-year-old man was arrested on his felony warrant for possession and trafficking of stolen property, a warrant with bail set at $50,000. The man was transported to King County Jail.
