Kirkland man identified in fatal motorcycle accident

The King County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man who died in a motorcycle accident in Kirkland on Oct. 18 as Joshua Porter, 41, of Kirkland.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who died in a motorcycle accident in Kirkland on Oct. 18 as Joshua Porter, 41, of Kirkland.

Porter was traveling westbound in the 12400 block of NE 70th Street when the motorcycle he was riding collided with the back of a vehicle at around 10 p.m. The King County Medical Examiner determined cause of death as multiple blunt force trauma to the head, torso and extremities.

When officers arrived at the scene, Porter had already died of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not seriously injured, but was taken to Overlake Hospital as a precaution.

The release said NE 70th Street was closed for several hours while the Kirkland Police Traffic Unit conducted a full investigation. The collision was deemed an accident by Kirkland police.
