Gina Cole, a 2007 graduate of Lake Washington High School, was recently honored as the 2012 Outstanding Graduate in Journalism at Western Washington University. One student from each academic major is so honored each year.

Cole graduated Cum Laude with a dual major in Journalism and Communications. While at Western, she served as operations and production director for the student radio station, managing editor for the Klipsun Magazine, and managing editor and editor-in-chief for The Western Front campus newspaper.

Cole is currently employed as a reporter for the Skagit Valley Herald.
