The Kirkland Police Department’s second annual benefit car show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. on Sept. 10 at the Kirkland Justice Center, 11750 NE 118th Street. This show is a fabulous way for car enthusiasts to demonstrate their support for local law enforcement and all proceeds go toward the department’s mentorship program, the Kirkland Police Department Explorers Club.

“This is the second year for this car show and we plan for it to become a lasting tradition,” said show organizer Police Captain Mike Ursino. “It means a lot to have the community express support for our young Explorers Program. A strong program helps us introduce young people to what life is like for law enforcement and gives us a wider field of candidates when we are recruiting new officers.”

The day will be filled with music, fun and food. Music will be provided by Hair Nation, a local 80’s rock band, and Hard Knocks and County, featuring Kirkland police officers. Hamburgers and hot-dogs will be served along with plenty of fun for the kids.

There is still space to enter cars into the show and registration prior to Sept. 1 gets entrants a free lunch voucher. Check-in for cars entered begins at 8 a.m. Contact Patti Ball at the Kirkland Police Department for registration information by email at pball@kirklandwa.gov or phone (425) 587-3417.
