Friends and family recently held a well-attended benefit auction for Woodinville native Tyler Schrenk at Echo Falls Golf Club.

The Woodinville and Kirkland community at large raised nearly $40,000 to help defray the heavy burden of Schrenk’s medical bills and financial needs since his spinal cord injury in a diving accident in 2012.

Schrenk and his family welcomed some of the officers of the Kirkland Police Department who were part of the team of first responders who saved his life during the accident.
