Kirkland police release sketch of ATM robbery suspect, search continues

Kirkland Police Department detectives are continuing to investigate the two attempted armed robberies that occurred last Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Kirkland Police Department detectives are continuing to investigate the two attempted armed robberies that occurred last Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Both incidents occurred in the Kirkland Juanita neighborhood — one at BECU Bank on Northeast 124th Street and the other US Bank on 100th Avenue Northeast. Each robbery occurred during the very early morning or evening hours.

The suspect is described as a white male adult, 20-30 years old, medium height and build. He was seen wearing a tan Carhartt “hoodie” type sweatshirt and possibly eyeglasses.

As a public safety reminder, the Kirkland Police Department asks that all citizens use caution and remain aware of their surroundings while using an ATM machine at a bank or other location.

In both incidents, the suspect either implied a knife or the knife was seen by the victim.

The victims were not injured and the suspect left the area each time before getting any money or valuables.
