Samantha Ellis, an eight grade flautist who attends Finn Hill Middle School in Kirkland, will be performing in the Junior All-State Band on Feb. 14 at the Northwest Music Teachers Convention in Spokane.
Ellis auditioned along with hundreds of students from across the state to be selected for this elite group. She is one of the rare students who has been chosen to be in the Junior All-State Band in both her seventh and eight grade years.
Smith represents the 9th Congressional District and Schrier represents the 8th Congressional District.
