Students at Kamiakin Middle School (KaMS) welcomed motivational speaker and kindness advocate, Houston Kraft, to their school on May 11.
Kraft led a workshop in the leadership class focusing on the process of building character. He shared that it takes practice to be kind, give compliments, and respect others.
“The hands-on activities that were done with our leadership class and staff were perfect for discussing character and how it can be built over time,” said Gretchen Oates, leadership advisor and librarian at KaMS. “Not only were students quiet and engaged, but they were strongly impacted by what Houston said.”
Kraft also spoke to the whole school, discussing how fear can hold you back from being kind and sticking up for others. At the end of the day, Kraft led a discussion with staff on how to build character and to teach others how to make kindness a habit.
“What a great place Kamiakin MS is – super thoughtful students and some really amazing staff and admin that have created a really cool school,” Kraft said on his website. For more information on Houston Kraft, visit www.houstonkraft.com.
