Future Business Leaders of America students from Kirkland at the International Community School and STEM High School participated in the Regional Conference at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue on Feb. 7. These scholars have qualified to compete in their respective events at the State Business Leadership Conference on April 17-18 in Yakima.
International Community School had four Kirkland residents honored, including: sophomore William Chae took second place in Business Law; senior Jerry Sun took third place in Account; sophomore Sam Carpenter and partner Gregory Cheng of Sammamish finished fifth in Emerging Business Issues; and senior Tristan Pehrson placed fifth in Computer Problem Solving.
STEM High School had four Kirkland residents honored, including: sophomore Kevin Nakahara and his partners from Sammamish Suraj Buddhavarapu and Anthony Humay, who took second place in Management Decision Making; sophomore Kevin Nakahara finished second in Agribusiness; sophomore Miranda Pehrson took second place in Public Speaking I; and Nakahara and Humay took fifth place in Sports and Entertainment Management.
