The Kirkland-Redmond Branch of the American Association of University Women awarded tuition scholarships to two women at its annual meeting on April 20.
The purpose of the scholarships is to assist post-high school women whose education has been interrupted and who have returned to school in a two- or four-year college degree program.
Danielle Dunlap, who received a $1500 scholarship, is studying at Bellevue College to fulfill her dream of participating in the health care of women by becoming a medical sonographer.
Natalia Edwards, a student in Business Administration at UW-Bothell, was given a $500 scholarship. After graduation she plans to use her Bachelor’s Degree to enable her to have a career in which she can assist other women to return to school and achieve their educational and career goals.
