Kirkland Police Department Cpt. Cherie Harris graduated on Dec. 19 from the FBI National Academy Program. Participants who represented law enforcement agencies from the United States, international countries, and military and federal organizations, received advanced investigative, management and fitness training. Harris was among 19 females out of a class of 215 who participated in the 258th Session of the Program.
“This is an exceptional professional and personal accomplishment for Captain Harris,” said Kirkland Police Chief Eric Olsen. “The coursework is as intense as the physical fitness training. We are very proud to have had Kirkland represented and proud of her achievement.”
Harris completed graduate-level organizational leadership and investigative courses and successfully completed a progressive and rigorous physical fitness program.
Harris was hired by the city of Kirkland in March 2012 as the new professional standards captain.
