Kite boarder rescued at Kirkland Marina Park

Kirkland firefighters responded to a water rescue at Kirkland Marina Park Sunday at around 4:45 p.m.

Kirkland firefighters responded to a water rescue at Kirkland Marina Park Sunday at around 4:45 p.m.

A Kirkland resident witnessed a male kite boarder’s kite-end go down 500 yards from the shoreline. Seattle Harbor Patrol also responded and transported him to Magnuson Park after they found him tired, cold and separated from his board, according to a Kirkland firefighter spokesperson.

The boarder was unharmed.
