Madison House, Kirkland’s first retirement community serving seniors for more than 35 years, will be passing on their legacy to family owned Koelsch Senior Communities April 1. Koelsch Senior Communities, family-owned and operated since 1958, currently has twenty communities in six states, specializing in independent, assisted living and memory care.

“We are really proud of Madison House and feel that our family run company, with a long legacy serving seniors, is the perfect fit for the Kirkland community,” CEO Aaron Koelsch said. “We are combining the best that our communities offer in addition to features that are unique to Madison House.  We have developed a $3.5 million enhancement plan to the exterior, interior common areas and residential apartments and will be adding new programming including 24 hour licensed nursing staff, which is a hallmark of Koelsch Senior Communities. Our unique location next to EvergreenHealth hospital and other cutting edge medical facilities is perfect. The location, along with spacious apartments, full kitchens, elegant restaurant-style dining, plus swimming pool, and on-site therapy program, will assure that residents will continue to find Madison House the perfect fit for their senior living choice.”

As CEO of Koelsch Senior Communities, Koelsch brings over 56 years of professional expertise and provides a strong role in continuing to build a legacy for this historic community in Kirkland. In addition to a vibrant history in senior care, Koelsch Senior Communities is proud to remain family owned and operated. Aaron Koelsch, who lived in the basement of their family’s first nursing home, has been a leader in the company for over 25 years and continues with his lifetime of experience and passion for excellence. Koelsch’s legacy and commitment to excellence makes him stand out as a leader and paves the way for even greater growth for Madison House in the years to come.

“Our team is dedicated, professional, and clearly passionate about caring for our aging population.” Koelsch said. “We have been caring for people since 1958 and we are committed to dignity, respect and the highest standards of service for our residents. We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.”

Koelsch Senior Communities leads the industry in Independent and Assisted Living by training and employing a licensed nurse onsite 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The clinical nurses are involved with every aspect of resident care, including assessing health needs and directly communicating with doctors, therapists and families. Koelsch Senior Communities also developed the Personal Touch Program, which was created to instill significance in every interaction.
