The winning streak continues.
The Lake Washington High School girls and boys basketball teams both won the KingCo Conference Championship on Feb. 9.
Next week, the Lady Kangs and Kangs basketball teams are set to play their first games of the SeaKing tournament on Feb. 15.
The Lady Kangs defeated Hazen, who was seeded second, by 71-48, which led the Lady Kangs to achieve their third straight KingCo Conference Championship win.
By winning the regular 3A KingCo season tournament and the 3A KingCo Conference Championship tournament, the Lady Kangs earned the number 2 seed in the 3A District 2 Girls Basketball Tournament, also known as “SeaKing.”
The next game for the Lady Kangs will take place Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the LWHS gym.
On the boys side, the Kangs defeated Liberty 58-47 at the KingCo Conference Championship. The Kangs play in the SeaKing boys basketball tournament Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 8:15 p.m. in the LWHS gym.
“I’m so proud of this group of guys for not only what they have accomplished, but the way they have done it,” said Ryan Staudacher, Kangs head coach. “They work hard, they are great teammates to one another, and they approach the game the right way. It’s fun to see a group that has grown up playing together have this kind of success, I couldn’t be happier for them.”
The top winning teams from the SeaKing tournament, which runs from Feb. 12-19, qualify for Washington state Regionals.
