Lake Washington High School’s Loyalty Club, a community service group of seniors, attended two of their school’s soccer games and one swim meet to sell baked goods and hot chocolate for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The event was organized by Hannah Cassidy, with the participation of 17 other Lake Washington seniors.

From selling food and drinks, Loyalty raised almost $400 from the three events.

Loyalty Club student also went out on Halloween night, going door-to-door in their local neighborhoods not only asking for candy, but asking if people would like to donate to UNICEF.

Loyalty overall raised more than $700 from selling goods and trick-or-treating throughout the month of October for UNICEF.

Students then attended an auction on Nov. 1 at the Eastside Tennis Center in Kirkland, organized by Loyalty member Amanda Levine. The seniors were little helpers to a catering business called Twelve Baskets Catering. They brought plates of food to the servers and helped bussed dishes for the auction that raised money for scholarships.

Next, the Loyalty Club will team up with Hopelink to collect food, money, and household items for families in the local communities in need for the holidays for the club’s annual Holiday Baskets program. The school-wide effort runs from Nov. 16 through Dec. 15 at Lake Washington High School.
