The lunchroom in the Old Redmond Schoolhouse will be buzzing with community, business and government leaders at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 9 as Leadership Eastside (LE) hosts the second annual State of the Eastside luncheon.
LE President James Whitfield and a leadership panel, composed of Stacey Graven, executive director of the Meydenbauer Center; Norm Rice, president of the Seattle Foundation; and John Marchione, Mayor of Redmond, will set the stage for the attendees to generate a community report card evaluating how the Eastside is performing in seven separate areas – arts and culture, basic needs, education, environment, health and wellness, economy, and neighborhoods and community.
Whitfield said, “The seven areas we’ll be evaluating represent the elements of a healthy community. We’re looking forward to the luncheon generating fun, thoughtful and animated discussions about the state of our Eastside communities.”
Following the luncheon, LE will seek additional information from members of the community who were unable to participate and a final report will be published as the “2012 State of the Eastside” in early March.
Reservations are available online at www.leadershipeastside.com. Tickets are $35 per person. Republic Services and The Seattle Foundation are presenting sponsors for the event.
