Progress on Lake Washington Technical College’s new Allied Health Building is on schedule, says project director Don Bloom. If the weather stays favorable over the next month, the next significant building milestone will be reached; the pouring of the building’s first floor slab. Once the slab pour is completed, crews can begin erecting the structural steel and the building will begin to take shape. The project, which broke ground Oct. 5, has already passed two milestones. Preliminary work on the site, including grading and utilities, has been completed, and the underground retention vault has been completed and covered. The building is expected to open for classes starting Spring Quarter 2011.
