The world’s largest human resource association, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), has honored Lake Washington Institute of Technology’s (LWTech) SHRM student chapter with the 2016-2017 Outstanding Student Chapter Award.

There are 327 student chapters in the United States, and LWTech was one of only 20 institutions to receive this award. SHRM has also awarded LWTech’s student chapter the superior merit award for the past seven years.

The outstanding student chapter award was granted to LWTech for providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student chapter members. LWTech’s year-long program does this by providing students with opportunities to network with HR professionals through chapter meetings, local HR events and regional conferences, while gaining insight into effective HR management. The program also provides a direct link to career placement after graduation.
