The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.
Between Jan. 19-25, there were 803 total incidents, including 134 traffic incidents, 18 traffic accidents, four DUIs, 18 general traffic incidents, seven incidents involving illegal drugs, 25 alarm calls, 11 abandoned vehicles, 11 burglaries, 11 incidents of fraud, 13 civil incidents, 11 cases of harassment, 19 thefts, nine vehicle prowls, two vehicle thefts, 16 warrants served, seven noise complaints, three animal calls, eight incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 13 disturbances, two sex offenses, six hit and runs and 23 incidents involving at least one arrest.
Jan. 19
Warrants: 2:44 a.m., 14300 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 35-year-old man was located outside Kingsgate 7-11 and arrested on his misdemeanor DUI warrant.
Warrants: 6:53 p.m., 11700 block of NE 118th St.; A 28-year-old Kirkland man was arrested at Issaquah City Jail for outstanding local warrants.
Jan. 20
Warrants: 11:23 p.m., 12300 block of NE 150th Court; A 33-year-old man was contacted during a traffic stop driving a vehicle without a license plate light. The man was a passenger, but was not wearing his seatbelt and was found to have a $5,500 outstanding warrant for reckless driving. The man was arrested without incident.
Jan. 21
Warrants: 1:33 a.m., 14300 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 29-year-old homeless man was known to have a warrant for drug paraphernalia worth $5,100. The man was located loitering outside of the Kingsgate 7-11 and arrested.
Domestic: 6:32 p.m., 11200 block of NE 91st St.; A 29-year-old woman assaulted her 31-year-old husband during an argument in which he told her he wanted a divorce. The woman was arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault.
Warrants: 6:33 p.m., 11700 block of NE 118th St.; A 25-year-old man was arrested on his Kirkland warrant.
Domestic: 9:20 p.m., 12500 block of NE 140th St.; A 46-year-old woman broke her husband’s guitar and amplifier and was arrested for 3rd-degree malicious mischief.
Jan. 22
Malicious mischief: 3:45 p.m., 14400 block of 124th Ave. NE; Witnesses observed a 26-year-old man using a white paint sharpie and tagging the RedBox display near Kingsgate Bartells. He continued to the propane tank display, tagged multiple trash cans, newspaper holders and a door near the Sno-King Ice Arena. An officer drove up on the man tagging a trash can in front of Little Caesars. After his arrest, the man proudly admitted to painting numerous negative terms against U.S. President Donald Trump in the Safeway men’s bathroom.
DUI: 10:10 p.m., 10600 block of 98th Ave. NE; A 46-year-old man was stopped for speeding. The man showed signs of imparment and provided a breath sample of .180. The man was arrested for DUI.
Jan. 24
Warrants: 1 a.m., 12200 block of 120th Ave. NE; A 31-year-old Milton man was arrested during a traffic stop on his outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended or revoked license and a DUI warrant.
Warrants: 7:37 p.m., 11900 block of 98th Ave. NE; Officers stopped a vehicle and arrested two women, a 41-year-old Everson woman and a 19-year-old Kirkland woman, on outstanding warrants. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license, no insurance and expired tabs.
Jan. 25
DUI: 1:09 a.m., 12100 block of Juanita Drive NE; A 38-year-old woman was pulled over in her Nissan Xterra for driving on the wrong side of the road. After further investigation, the woman was arrested for DUI.
Trespass: 12:45 p.m., 12000 block of 120th Place NE; A 37-year-old man refused to pack his items and leave the Totem Lake Motel 6, and was arrested for 2nd-degree Trespass.
Theft: 7 p.m., 12500 block of 116th Ave. NE; Law enforcement contacted a 47-year-old man outside Value Village and arrested him on his contempt of court warrant out of Seattle. A search of the man revealed several items stolen from Value Village.
