Between April 10-16, the Kirkland Police Department reported 647 traffic violations (seven DUIs), 34 alarm calls, 24 car accidents, 19 noise complaints, 16 thefts, 12 car prowls, seven domestic violence calls,

Between April 10-16, the Kirkland Police Department reported 647 traffic violations (seven DUIs), 34 alarm calls, 24 car accidents, 19 noise complaints, 16 thefts, 12 car prowls, seven domestic violence calls, eight calls for harassment, 11 acts of fraud, 18 calls of a disturbance, four calls for illegal substances and 15 calls of civil disturbance. At least 47 people were arrested.

April 16

Assault: 7:15 p.m., 800 block of Kirkland Ave. A 43-year-old Everett man attempted to strangle his girlfriend of three years after she hit him in the shoulder for making a comment about her son. Both parties had been drinking. The woman had to bite the man’s arm to get him to let go. The man was arrested for assault.

April 14

DUI: 12:51 a.m., 9500 block of 112th Ave. N.E. Officers responded to a report of a single-car collision. When officers located the vehicle the driver performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.

April 13

Order violation: 10 p.m., 12500 block of 64th Ave. N.E. A 32-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for violating a no-contact order.

April 12

Warrant arrest: 4:07 p.m., 12100 block of N.E. 124th St. A 22-year-old Kirkland man was contacted after he had just dumped all his heroin down the toilet of Denny’s restaurant. Both the man and a friend were confirmed to have a no-trespass order.

April 11

Trespass: 7:08 p.m., 14200 block of 131st Ave. N.E. A 14-year-old female and a 17-year-old male, both from Redmond, were arrested for criminal trespass after jumping a fence and hiding inside a storage shed. The two teens were running from their parents as they were runaways.

Theft: 7:26 p.m., 10000 block of N.E. 137th St. A 27-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for shoplifting from the Juanita Safeway.

Burglary: 8:30 p.m., 11100 block of 120th Ave. N.E. A witness called 911 to report a burglary at Fastenal Tools. The caller reported that the front door was smashed and she saw a man running eastbound with an arm load of new tools. A perimeter was established and K9s responded to the scene. The K9s located a 21-year-old Bellevue man hiding in a fenced area in a nearby business. All the tools were recovered along with a cash drawer. The man eventually provided a detailed written confession along with a heartfelt apology letter. The man was booked for burglary, theft, malicious mischief and criminal trespass.

CPS: 9:53 p.m., 14400 block of 124th Ave. N.E. A 25-year-old Kirkland man was contacted at the Juanita Safeway in reference to a report that he was hitting his son and making him panhandle. The man was arrested on a weapons related warrant.

April 10

Assault: 7:15 a.m., 11400 block of N.E. 132nd St. A 64-year-old Kirkland man was involved in a road rage incident with another 23-year-old Mountlake Terrace woman. The man waved and pointed his Taurus .38 special handgun at the woman while they were stopped at an intersection. The man was identified, arrested and the weapon was recovered.
